Inside the mind of Master Procrastinator – Tim Urban

TED talks are a great source of information and one of my absolute favourite TED Talks of all times is “Inside the mind of Master Procrastinator” by Tim Urban. About a decade ago when I was not fully aware of social media and dopamine traps, I was guilty of going on an endless spiral of YouTube videos, Twitter feeds and Facebook posts. I just couldn’t control it. I could feel the guilt of ending a day without producing much in return. Yet I continued my doom scrolling. It is by accident that I came across the video and it became an instant favourite.

When I learned SketchNoting, I revisited the video and created this SketchNote as dedication to a video which played a part in changing me. I hope this helps you become aware of the Instant Gratification Monkey and stop feeding it. The Life Calendar is also an excellent solution to set some deadlines for your personal goals without which the Panic Monster will never wake up.

PS: I do visit the video myself once in a while especially if I fall into that trap again.

Have you seen this TED Talk? Which other TED talks would you absolutely recommend to watch?
