It’s January 18th today. If you made some New Year Resolutions and you’re still following them, a huge shout out to you! If you haven’t been able to stick to them, it’s never too late to start. Don’t wait for the next year, you can start with Today. Sometimes the question is, which resolution should I adopt? That’s where today’s SketchNoTe comes into Picture (pun intended). James Clear, Author of one of my favourite book of all times, posted on X about the Habits that have high return rate in life. If you adopt one and start doing it consistently in life, the chances are good that the effort will return something good back in life. Of course you don’t need to start with all of them. You can pick one and bring it into your daily/regular routine until it becomes a part of your life. It’s all about building a system rather than waiting for motivation to strike.

I hope this helps you get started!

✅ This post really captured the quiet power of small, high-return habits — especially the idea that results compound when the actions are sustainable. That concept didn’t land for me until I took the Archetype6 quiz and realized I’m a Synthesizer. I was constantly adjusting my habits but rarely finishing the loop.

    Here’s what helped shift things:

    1. I started locking in “good enough” versions of habits instead of endlessly improving them.
    2. Weekly reflection became useful only when paired with a non-negotiable action step.
    3. Learning from other Synthesizers helped me accept that progress doesn’t need to be optimized every time.

Has anyone built a minimalist habit setup that still leaves room for thoughtful review? I’m trying to keep things simple without losing the ability to course-correct.

For a minimalist Habit setup, I just use my Journal. Habits in columns and dates in rows. For everyday I complete the Habit, I put a tick against it. It visualises the chain and keeps me going.
