Every year, our SketchNote community hosts the ‘May I Sketch Challenge’ – that’s four themes in four weeks! Bit by bit, prompt by prompt, community members can create four SketchNotes in a month. It’s a fantastic way to get started, especially if creating a full SketchNote feels a bit overwhelming. Last year, I even compared the improvements in my SketchNoting skills over a year in my post: The Power of Showing up Daily

This year, I wanted to challenge myself in a different way. Instead of my usual pen and paper (my go-to tools for creating SketchNotes), I used Procreate. Procreate is an amazing illustration app for the iPad. I’ve been meaning to learn it for quite some time but always put it off for one reason or another. So, this challenge served as the perfect platform for me to get some hands-on experience with the tool.

I’m not a master of the tool yet, but I’m happy to say I’ve learned enough to use it for creating SketchNotes in the future. I picked up some cool tips and tricks, and had a few ‘A-ha!’ moments with the app too!

Also, while creating these SketchNotes, it reinforced some of my learnings and areas for improvement across our themes for Physical Health, Mental Health, Relationships, and Financial Health. Plus it’s always great to see thought leadership, visual themes and creativity from other Community Members.
